Growing up can be tough.

Being a kid isn't easy, and you may find yourself making difficult decisions. In Trusting Timothy: A Story about Cheating, Timothy comes face-to-face with a hard choice and must decide whether to follow along with his friends, or stand up for what is right.

This book teaches readers that a strong foundation is needed to make those tough decisions, and that the foundation can always be found in the Word of God. Trusting Timothy demonstrates how God's Word can be used to address moral issues and set you up for success.

MY THOUGHTS

Trusting Timothy: A Story About Cheating is a Keeper! I love books like this! Written as a family project, it considers all points of view, that of the adult and the child, keeping the story believable.

Many would say that Timothy’s reactions were not believable, however, I was just like him. I memorized many scriptures, which pulled me back from doing the wrong thing, many a time. The bible verses chosen were perfect and short enough so that as parents read to their children they can memorize them.

Whether young or old, we all will face hard choices in life. This book shows how the power of God’s word can guide us and help us through those moments.

The artwork was adorable and the cast of characters was diverse, the Bryant family scored a home run for me.

Key Take Aways:

  • Kids can withstand peer pressure
  • There are consequences to cheating
  • Doing the right thing is rewarding and satisfying
  • Memorizing God’s word helps us do the right thing
  • If it makes you uncomfortable, think carefully about your choice
  • Grandparents can play a key role in raising their grandchildren.

Recommendation:

  • A must for classrooms, parents, libraries, and churches.

Many thanks to the authors and TCBR for the copy I received for review. All thoughts expressed are my own.
